This is a limited run of 100 archival prints at this paper size of 20"x16". I personally inspect, sign and number each print. Prints come with a signed certificate of authenticity, and a description sheet for the artwork.
Certificates include a hologram with a unique serial number, and the same number is written with graphite on the back of the print.
If you also prefer the edition number and signature on the back of your print, please be sure to let me know when ordering.
The Story Behind This Image
I painted this bear during a weekend where I simply had the urge to make a happy, blissful image that would inspire some smiles.
I had been doing some anatomical studies of bears, and by the time I felt comfortable enough with the anatomy I sketched a series of gestures. One of these gestures had a joyful, dynamic feel, so I cleaned it up and started painting.
The image is painted entirely digitally, in a back-and-forth dance between Procreate and Photoshop.
As a nature photographer, I aimed to convey for a feeling of realism in the way the imaginary camera lens would affect the image, picturing what lens I would've used if I had been there in the scene, and how the image would distort and blur.
